What is the MBSAR Programme?
MBSAR is an acronym for the DIMERSAR "Mountain Bike Search and Rescue" training and certification program. It teaches and certifies in several areas of Mountain Biking (MTB) and Search and Rescue (SAR) and includes Disaster Response and First Aid / Medical and some Bike Maintenance.
It is unique in many ways as it address many aspects of "Search and Rescue" as well as "Mountain Biking" in a combined course and program with 6 public certification levels.
Please note that you do NOT have to be a Mountain Bike Trickster!
You need to know how to ride a mountain bike in an above average way and be fairly fit.You need to know the foundation information of Emergency Response and SAR including Disaster Response.
The minimum first aid level should be the standard first aid with BLS.Additional outdoor / wilderness and more advanced (such as first responder) training is very beneficial including treatment of injuries in austere and disaster environments.
